Ayesha was 9 when Muhammad slept with her. This is a fact demonstrated by a great number of hadithes. There is no controversy in that. There has never been until now that some of the Muslims have come in contact with western values and are ashamed to admit that their Prophet could commit such an indecency. They deny the facts and have made it a controversy. The majority of Muslims still have no problem with the young age of the Ayesha and they ridicule these Modern day “moral relativists” who are twisting the truth to please the morality of the westerners.

An American lady, with whom I used to correspond about Islam, was interested in this religion because of her Muslim boyfriend. She admitted that the thought of Muhammad having sexual intercourse with a 9-year-old girl appalled her but she was relieved to know that there are some Muslims who deny it and this is the subject of a controversy not agreed by all the Muslims. This is what I wrote in response.

“There are people who deny the holocaust. This happened only 55 years ago and it is very well documented. Yet it has not stopped some people to deny it. So they start a controversy. Would you doubt the holocaust because it is a subject of a controversy? Intelligent people are not affected by controversies. They look at the facts and are not swayed by hearsays. Feeble-minded people become confused and do not know which way to turn. These people switch off and avoid the issue altogether, because for them, making a decision is not an easy task. That is why some people start the controversy.

Only a few years ago a Sheikh in Saudi Arabia issued a fatwa that anyone who said the Earth is round is Kafir. Obviously this did not go very far but he started a controversy. So what is your opinion about the shape of the Earth? Would you stay out of it because it is a controversial issue? How about the evolution? There are many Muslims as well as Christians who do not agree with the theory of evolution. They believe in the Biblical and Quranic stories of Adam and Eve and the creation. This is a big controversy. Are you going to stay away from it? Is it a none-issue for you? Almost everything under the Sun is a controversial issue. From death penalty to hunting, from spending money for space exploration to aiding the poor countries, everything is a controversy. Even the very subject of religion is a controversial issue. So you cannot walk away from responsibility when you are faced with controversies.

I agree that morality is relative and we should not judge the ancient people’s morality with our modern morality.

Obviously we all cringe when we think of pedophilia and acknowledge that it is a shameful act of immorality. But during the time of Muhammad, and even today in some Islamic countries, marrying a 9-year-old child was not immoral. In fact Ayesha was given to Muhammad with the consent of her parents and no one raised an eyebrow. The question is, if sleeping with a nine year old child was not deemed bad and therefore was not considered immoral, was it ok? Not everything that a society accepts as moral is right. Having sex with a minor may not have been immoral for Arabs 1400 years ago, but it is now, as it was then, unethical. Moralities are defined by circumstances, but ethics transcend time and space. They are rooted in logics. Morality can vary from culture to culture, from time to time and from person to person. Who is to determine what is moral and what is not? “

Having sex with a minor may not have been immoral for Muhammad and his contemporaries in that uncivilized culture, but it was ethically wrong. If Muhammad was a messenger of God or an honorable man, as he made his Allah to proclaim him thus, he should have known that what he was doing was dishonorable and unethical.

Although it is true that in the past people married at very young age. And it is also true that occasionally wealthy old men married very young girls. We have to realize that these people acted on their culture. We do not condemn them for they did not know better. What they did was the norm. But we do condemn those cultures.

However, we cannot forgive with the same amnesty those who claimed to be the standard of rectitude amongst mankind. If average people could not distinguish the right from the wrong, the messengers of God, if they were from God, should have known better. If their claim was true, if their knowledge was divine, if they were inspired, they should not have followed the tradition of their people but should have set the example. Muhammad followed the morality of his people. But that morality was ethically wrong. He claimed to be the best human and the last messenger of God. According to him God has said to people all he wanted to say in Quran and his religion is complete. There is no more guidance to come and his examples and his teachings are all we need to know and follow for eternity. Yet what he did and said, under the light of modern values prove to be very wrong.

Now we realize that we cannot live by his examples any more, nor can we practice his teachings. Our morality has changed. We would certainly put a man in jail if he wanted to follow the Sunnah of the prophet in this day and age and "marry" a 9-year-old child. We would not allow someone to take people as slaves, trade in slavery or have them as Muhammad did.

If we cannot follow the morality of Muhammad any more, if what he said and did do not fit in this modern day, why we need Muhammad? What part of his teachings should we accept and what part should we discard? Who will determine that? This is an important question. If we give ourselves the freedom to pick and choose the teachings that most suit our personality we should give the same freedom to others.

Suppose you believe that marriage to a minor should be outlawed, or you do not feel that polygyny is suited any more for this day and age. Suppose you disagree with slavery, male or female circumcision, beating of the wives and do not believe in Jihad any more. You prefer to concentrate on other parts of Islam that you like, e.g. Salat, Zikat, Haj, etc. This is your choice. But can you deny other Muslims whose choices are distinct from yours? How could you stop a Muslim who wants to follow those teachings of Islam that you consider outdated? By what authority can you dissuade one who wants to spread Islam by Jihad, like Muhammad did? How can you prohibit him not to assault sexually a 9-year-old child by marrying her? What would you say to a Muslim who wishes to marry up to four wives and decides to punish them by beating them if they are disobedient, as the Prophet instructed him to do? If you use logic in picking the teachings that are best, you are saying that logic is superior to revelation and therefore you are subscribing to the freethinker’s way of thinking not Muhammad’s.

Many Islamic countries have realized that true Islam is impractical. Very few of them can practice it faithfully; they all have modified it to certain extent and have incorporated secularism into their laws to make life bearable. Those that do follow Islam are hells on Earth. Interestingly the civility and the progress of these countries are proportionate to the level of their secularization. In the Middle Ages, when religion had plunged Europe into the dark ages, Islamic countries were progressive and prosperous. This was possible because of the tolerance of the rulers of those days, their independence from the Mosque and their disinterest to implement Islam.

Ar-Razi, one of the greatest minds of Islamic world, attacked religion in general and Islam in particular with a force unthinkable in this day. He wrote:

“The prophets—these billy goats with long beards, cannot claim any intellectual or spiritual superiority. These billy goats pretend to come with a message from God, all the while exhausting themselves in spouting their lies, and imposing on the masses blind obedience to the "words of the master." The miracles of the prophets are impostures, based on trickery, or the stories regarding them are lies. The falseness of what all the prophets say is evident in the fact that they contradict one another: one affirms what the other denies, and yet each claims to be the sole depository of the truth; thus the New Testament contradicts the Torah, the Koran the New Testament. As for the Koran, it is but an assorted mixture of "absurd and inconsistent fables," which has ridiculously been judged inimitable, when, in fact, its language, style, and its much vaunted "eloquence" are far from being faultless. Custom, tradition, and intellectual laziness lead men to follow their religious leaders blindly. Religions have been the sole cause of the bloody wars that have ravaged mankind. Religions have also been resolutely hostile to philosophical speculation and to scientific research. The so-called holy scriptures are worthless and have done more harm than good, whereas the "writings of the ancients like Plato, Aristotle, Euclid, and Hippocrates have rendered much greater service to humanity."

This kind of criticism of Islam today, would carry the death sentence. Can any intellectual speak so freely against Islam calling the prophets “Billy Goats” as Ar-Razi called them disdainfully in these days and live? Does the fatwa against Salman Rushdie ring a bell? It is clear that in those days of the golden age of Islam, Islamic countries enjoyed a freedom and a level of secularization that has since been disappeared. And along with that, the glory of Islamic world also has ebbed. Islam can be used as an index of barbarity and backwardness. The more a country applies Islam, the more uncivilized and uncultured it becomes.

I have no doubt that if Islam was eliminated completely, we’ll regain the past glory of those secular days and even surpass it. There is no reason to believe that the black-eyed hairy race of Middle East is inferior to the blue-eyed soft-skinned Europeans. The number of Middle Eastern scientists, academics and scholars in the West is an indication that given the opportunity we are no less intelligent than any other race. The reason that we are backward, uncivilized and barbaric in our native countries is because Islam has taken away our dignity, humanity and intelligence. Islam has brainwashed us, and like a drug has damaged the minds of our people.

Who is to blame? Religion or the People?

Question: Is religion the source of the crime or the people abusing religion?

Answer:I give you a book that is saying you have to kill any Jamaican citizen. You do so. Who is to blame? The book for saying it or you for doing it?

Religion and God were essential for the survival of human race, religion is part of human evolution but like many other things in the evolution religion will be replace with knowledge and a better understanding of the Universe and life.

The teaching of the many religions were crucial for the time being but it is you that need to make the decision if the same laws are still valid today.

Let say polygamy, at one point in the time it was crucial that one man had many wives, many mens got killed in the wars, if it was not for plural marriage the tribe may not even survived and so many of us wouldn't be here.

But does the same situation is necessary today?

I see religion as tool. A tool to human survival. A physiological tool. Religion like many other tools are being replaced by new tools and idea. We don't need A God to tell us "do not kill" , we have laws of the land. You kill you go to prison.

Moses 10 commandment where essential for the survival of the Israelites tribe, there was no police, prisons, judges and courts, Moses needed a law from a powerful God to keep the tribe under control and stopping them of killing each other and stealing commit adultery.

So back to your question, I blame the people for still using an old tool in a new era.

We have replaced Horses with Cars but we are still using religion for our moral and emotional understanding.

Do you know if we would follow the old testament and use it as our guide for moral believe, we would be ending up in prison? The old testament punishment for stealing, killing and many others are called gruesome in today’s standard. And this goes with every religion, Islam, Judaism, Christianity. Each had a different way of teaching based on the culture it was found in.

Archeology uses the shape of tools and the time stamp and place to determine the origin of it and the tribe it was used in. Now days basic tools such as fork, knives, cooking pot around world looks kind of similar.

So is the religion, the basic teachings are the same, with minor tweaks to fit in the country and culture was teached in. Nowadays the teaching of Islam, Christian and Judaism is not necessary for human survival, and if one to believe in it for its emotional and moral support, that person has not grown into the next face of human kind.

Today in order for us to grow and move forward we have to set aside religion and look into the future. We need to deal with religion as we have done with many tools from the past, religion belong into the museums and not in our daily lives anymore.

We need to respect and preserve our religious past but remember the important part of it, that is belong to the PAST.

This is why so many wars and hate is being spread in the name of religion and God. some are using the old teaching and laws to justify their action and hunger for power and money.

Muhammad had its way of dealing with criminal because there was no High security Prisons, there was no Gang unite and SWAT team, he had to use harsher punishments for the one that commit crimes. But do we have to follow the same laws today?

Catholic church killed over 50.000 women in the name of witchcraft because they did not want women to gain any power and control, why do you think that Da Vinci code made such a name for itself, because it is saying that the high priest next to Jesus was Marie Magdalena.

This idea makes the church look likes criminals, which in my mind they are.

So you see how the idea of religion was necessary than but not today anymore.

I did a google on this and here is what I found?

1.Albert Einstein’s equation states that Energy = Mass x C2. The law of physics states that energy cannot be created or destroyed.

Which means the energy that created the universe cannot have a beginning nor an end. Also, there must be something that existed before the universe and that will continue to exist after the universe. That is the definition of God.

By applying Albert Einstein’s formula, the universe must have a creator because the universe has mass (M). God does not need a creator because God does not have mass (M). God is energy (E).

Thus when people ask the question, “If God created mankind, who created God?”, they mistakenly imagine God as having a form or mass. Only mass needs a creator, not energy.

The creator of mass is of course, energy. The theory of God’s existence is in line with mathematical theory.

2.We first assume the following axiom:

Muhammad & his Monster

As has been said, if you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. Islam in general, forbids lying. The Quran says, "Truly Allah guides not one who transgresses and lies." Surah 40:28.

In the Hadith, Mohammed was also quoted as saying, "Be honest because honesty leads to goodness, and goodness leads to Paradise. Beware of falsehood because it leads to immorality, and immorality leads to Hell." However, this has not been the case in Islam. Islam is based on big lies and contradictions.

The biggest scam in Islam, especially Shi'a Islam is perhaps the notion of "Taqqiyeh", an immoral tactic to lie for a good cause and later retract your words, (The belief that the end justifies the means). Islam is all about schemes, war and violence.

Prophet Mohammed was an extremely violent man, a man of war. Historically, Jesus set the example for love, as did Moses. The opposite is true of Prophet Muhammad. That is why we see so many suicide bombers in our era. They simply are following what the prophet of Islam had planned for them. Islam rewards those who become martyrs with 72 virgins. So, sex is what the Arab Muslim murderers die for. It is all about sex. This must tell us a lot about the prophet's own appetite for sex. He did not spare anyone; even 9 year old girls were not immune to his sexual wrath. Worshiping a sex-maniac and a child molester? I think NOT.

Muslims are true victims of Islam. However, they fail to realize that Islam is a cult, and the prophet was a demon, possessed by a huge sexual appetite. Yes, true Muslims firmly believe, that those who die in the act of killing the infidels (Christians, Jews and other non-believers) will not only gain entrance into heaven, but will be greeted by 72 virgin women - most likely, seventy-two 9 year old girls.

Being politically correct has backfired and the world seems to be taken hostage by the Islamic fanatics. The more politicians give in and declare Islam as a peaceful religion, the more they give the Muslim fanatics impetus to harass and intimidate people of the host countries where they have been given shelter to live.

Galileo said: "I do not think it is necessary to believe that the same God who has given us our senses, reason, and intelligence wished us to abandon their use, giving us by some other means the information that we could gain through them."

The statement above was true then as it is true today. God has bestowed upon humans many different senses, including "intelligence" so that we use them for a better life. The senses he has given us should lead us to enlightenment and prosperity, not the other way around. Is it possible that the almighty has given these treasures to only a few people and abandoned the rest of his creatures in bewilderment?

Intelligence is discerning between true and false or the real and illusory. Islam ultimately defines the real nature of intelligence as coming to realize the absolute nature of Allah and the relativity of all else that is other than He. The Qur'an calls those who have gone astray from religion as those who cannot think, 'la ya'quilun', those who cannot use their intelligence correctly.

It is true that all religions are founded on fear. Fear of the unknown. Fear of death. However, throughout the years, many of the world religions were able to find ways to reform themselves, but NOT Islam. Islam prides itself on having remained unchanged. The Islamic Revolution in Iran presents a clear image of Islam. We do not need to go back to 1400 years ago and see what the prophet of Islam did. We can see a total replica in the words of his disciples, Ayatollah Khomeini, and the newly selected president of Iran, Mr. Ahmadinejad. That is how Islam advanced rapidly around the world, with terror and fear.

"Quran says; kill, imprison! Why are you only clinging to the part that talks about mercy? Mercy is against God. Mehrab means the place of war, the place of fighting. Out of the mehrabs, wars should proceed, just as all the wars of Islam used to proceed out of the mehrabs. The prophet has [had] sword to kill people. Our [Holy] Imams were quite military men. All of them were warriors. They used to wield swords; they used to kill people. We need a Khalifa who would chop hands, cut throat, stone people."

"In the same way that the messenger of God used to chop hands, cut throats, and stone people; in the same way that he massacred the Jews of Bani Qurayza because they were a bunch of discontented people. If the Prophet used to order to burn a house or exterminate a tribe, that was justice." Ayatollah Khomeini.

Many Islamic scholars vow that Islam is a religion of logic, wisdom, moderation and peace. They vow that Islam invites people towards insight and knowledge and uplifts the position of women in society. This is far from the truth. Islam cannot stand what is logical and it does not invite people towards insight, but entraps humans with a deadly poison. Once one becomes Muslim, there is no way out.

Islam is about forcing women to wear the "hejab" the symbol of backwardness, stupidity and fanaticism. Women are second class citizens in the Muslim world. The prophet Muhammad takes his 9 year old wife to bed. What kind of man, not to mention a prophet of God, would commit such horrible act of pedophilia? (READ MORE - Muhammad & His Wives, So Many of Them) The Quran says women are to be beaten by their husbands, yet Muslim women apparently are fine with this violence, or they could not wait to divorce Islam and run away. Quran says four wives are allowed but Muhammad had at least 20 or even more. They say, in paradise, women are chained in different areas for men's pleasure.

Islam definitely is not compatible with logic and democracy. As a matter of fact, Islam is against liberty and freedom. The problem with the Islamic scholars is that they are in denial that the genie is out and now it is way too late to put it back in the bottle.

Khoshroo Gholamali, Deputy Minister for International and Legal Affairs of the Islamic Republic at the Munich Conference on Security Policy said, "Islam's prime objective is to strike a balance between Islamic tenets and democratic mechanisms. The extremists have manipulated, misconstrued, and tried to hijack Muslim tenants."

What Mr. Gholamali said in the conference is misleading and untrue. What Mr. Gholamali did not talk about was the achievements of the Islamic republic for the past 27 years as a model country for the Muslim world. He did not mention about the Islamic executions, floggings, stoning and amputations of limbs in public since this peaceful religion invaded Iran.
He did not speak about the promotion of international and domestic terrorism through Islamic jihad, the creation of the Hezbollah who have conducted many terrorist attacks against innocent people and the promotion of Islamic fundamentalism. He did not say this moderate religion has oppressed the religious minorities in Iran and made them to flee their country. He did not mention how savagely the Islamists in Iran have raped innocent girls before executing them because Islam forbids executing virgins, so raping them was very Islamic. Yes, Islam is very democratic, but only for the Islamic terrorists.

It is due to Muhammad's way of life that Muslims act barbaric and run amuck and burn cars and Embassies each time someone draws a picture of the holy prophet.

Behaviorally, the prophet of Allah hallmarks a cult. In other words, we cannot compare Islam to other religions because due to the prophets narcissistic manners, Islam falls in the category of a cult, not a religion. Hell and heaven in the way we have been though cannot exist and logically doesn’t make sense.Let’s say you like banana, I will give you an unlimited supply of it to you. You can eat banana for so long before you hate it. You will hate its smell, its color, its taste and even its name. In order for you to like banana, is to eat it ones a while. This goes for anything that brings you pleasure and happiness. And pain and suffering will become part of you. I have had headecks for 2 years now; it has become part of my life. Until now doctors haven't been able to find out why. So when I have headecks I don't even think about it. But when it stops for even a short time, I am like wow, what is going on? No headecks?Heaven, a place of unlimited happiness, joy and love would eventually suck; you need pain, anger, and suffer to appreciate love, and joy and happiness.Hell, a place of suffering, pain and hate will fell like my headecks, eventually it will be part of you and you wouldn’t even know it is there, unless you have the opposite feeling such us love, happiness and joy. Example I don’t think looking at a beautiful women/men in the street is wrong while you are married, but you need to control your desire to not convert thought to action. Let say that God does exists. And he created the world, the universe. Do you really think for one minutes that your action will make him upset? Do you really believe in any way you can make him disappointed? Do you really think you can make him angry?I have a 7 years old son, ones a while he does things that make me sad, angry and upset. But in no way I will ever deny him as my son, or condemn him to hell. Even if he denies me as being his father. I will still love him. If I could I would never create a hell like place for my son. I my son grow up and doesn’t act in a loving, carrying way, and respect me and others, it is not his fault. It is my. It is my failure as father. So a all powerful God, loving God, is so beyond our understanding that nothing we can do to make him angry, sad and disappointed. A loving God would never create hell for his children. If indeed he did created hell, he is its first guest because he miserably failed us. But there is not God. PS: 99% of the people in the prisons believe in some kind of God, and Hell, but that doesn't stop them to commit there crime.

(3) However, if one has no reason to believe that God is just, then we have no reason to believe He will provide us with an afterlife.

The God that everyone believe in is not just, loving. As much as every one defends him, he doesn't defend his childern. This is the only chance you get. Live every day as it would be your last and stop lying to your self about afterlife. There is not afterlife.

It seems that Malaysia’s space problem is facing a serious roadblock in their attempts to go into space: how will their Muslim astronauts pray? After all, when floating in space, how does one know which direction is east so that he or she could bow towards Mecca? Obviously, this is an issue much stickier than any issues of scientific discovery. Furthermore, there is a concern regarding the rationing of water and the need for the astronauts to perform their daily ablutions. After all, what could be more important than ritual washing in a zero gravity environment? Malaysia is actually hosting a two day conference to discuss these pressing issues.
You know, it’s funny that these problems aren’t accounted for in Muslim holy scripture. It’s almost as if science can provide possibilities that religion isn’t equipped to deal with. I guess if the world was run only be religious principles we wouldn’t have to worry about how to deal with things like space travel becuase such things wouldn’t be possible, along with sanitation, healthcare, transportation, adequate food production, lifespans past thirty…

The idea of GOD and the creation can be and is a wonderful idea. In a world like ours we need GOD; we need the fear and the reward of GOD. With God things just make more sense. There is hope and light in the darkness. A drop of water in the dessert, a kind of warm feeling in our heart. This is what have been said and repeated over and over. But God is also a powerful tool of control, a perfect investment for wealth and politic. For many years religious people where able to maintain this power and wealth with minimal knowledge. Mostly they have enabled the mass majority to not gain knowledge, and know one would dare to question the Pope, Imam or a Rabbi. The world was flat as long as the Churches want it to be. And if anyone said it different they would be hanged. We now know that the world is not flat. Despite wide availability of scientific knowledge at present there are still some who believe that Earth is flat. (There is even Flat Earth society in the USA, members of which regard to spherical satellite images of Earth as aberrations). Between 1993 and 1995, various newspapers and magazines published accounts of a modern Islamic cleric, Ibn Baz, the former Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, who is said to have claimed that "the earth is flat and that anyone who denies this is considered an unbeliever”. But with the time we have learned more about our universe and able to share it with the whole world. We have learned to see the earth in a total different view. Science has teaches us a lot. We are able to do the research our self. You can’t just sell the idea of a flat earth and 6 days creation, and GOD as it center point anymore. So to keep GOD, you need faith. Pure and simple fact of faith. You can't prove that there is GOD, and right now (2006) you can either. Years ago God was the center point of Human moral and less as a personal spiritual being. You couldn't get into the heaven without the Popes blessing and the Imams key. But now days GOD is more or less seen as personal hope, Goal, power, Love, harmony. GOD is becoming personal; hundred years ago you couldn't talk to GOD, you where not worthy, "he wouldn’t listen to you", they would tell you. But now days you don't need your Imam blessing, your bishops permit. It is you and GOD. Now days you hear some one saying that if you don't believe in GOD you are disconnected from the world. But in my opinion this is what GOD does. The idea of GOD disconnects you from the world, nature, universe and even your loved one. Are they going to share the same heaven after the dead? Is my daughter going to be present in the heaven or because she has chosen and different path and she may end up some where else? Hell perhaps. Human are created in GOD image, this make us superior to anything in the universe except GOD him self. Isn't that pretty selfish? How about all the crime that has been done in the name of GOD? How is it that with the majority of the people of the earth we have so many crime and hate? If the majority of people believe in GOD and his love how come not even half of them act according to his will? Do we really want to call our ignorance and lack of knowledge EVIL? You want to give it a name too? Lucifer, Devil, Sheytan, 666? You want to blame it on him? Is this going to make you feel better? It is not your fault is the Devil. Accept Jesus and he will fight the Devil. Now days it is not my job as an atheist to prove to you that there is no GOD, it is your job to show me some kind of evidence. I will not buy the idea of Adam and Eve living side by side with dinosaurs, and the 6 days creation. I can’t just say; because I don’t have the answers, so there must be a GOD. I have evolved to a more intelligent being and blind faith is just not enough anymore. But there is also the question of moral. A God less world has no morals. (Definition: relating to principles of right and wrong). Do we really need God to tell us what is right and wrong? You don’t kill, steal, you don’t because of your believe in God or you know that the society will not tolerate this kind of behavior. Moral is also very relative. It is against the western moral for men to marry a 12 years old girl, but in some Arabic countries this act is absolutely ok. In US just watch MTV and you will see show that the Arabs would call pure work of evil. What is moral for one man is not for the other. So do we do thing based on moral or the laws of that society? They are basic laws that we follow, based on our instinct, but even animal do so. No aggressive lion will just go on a rampage and kill every other animal, for no reason. Is it moral or is a basic instinct? The Brazilian Piranha is one of the most vicious animals out there but even they don’t kill each other. Is it moral? Now we can say that moral is what would benefit your survival. You can not survive as a single person so you have to say your survival as a team. Your morals have to match the morals of others, you have to create a law that both respect and accept. And live according to it. So we need laws more than morals. When we respect the laws, moral and law become on entity. So we don’t need God to support our morals. Religion want you to believe that we need God as the center of moral being, to survive otherwise the world would be in chaos, animals don’t believe in God, so they don’t have moral, and there is no chaos. Actually everything but humans has perfect harmony. Humans are they one that interrupt this harmony. So I don’t need God to know that world is round, I don’t need him for my moral support neither happiness. I have the love of my wife and children, there love give me hope, there support give me peace and because of this I have a goal. With hard work I will have must of the thing I need. And if I live my life according to my principal in dead they will talk of me as a honest, respectful man. I will respect my fellow man as I want they do the same. I will protect my principal, since I owe this to my children and loved one. I will respect the law, as this is the way to live a peaceful life. I will face pain with open arm, and I understand that it is part of life. I will welcome dead when time is right, as I will know I have lived a full live. I will teach my children the same value and principal. If there is God and he doesn’t like they way I live, he should made me a fish. So why do I need God?

IRAN'S BRUTAL ASSAULT YESTERDAY ON WOMEN CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

The peaceful gathering of women's rights activists, women's groups and human rights defenders who had gathered in Park Daneshjoo (Student Park) yesterday, in commemoration of March 8th, International Women's Day, ended in violence, when they were attacked and assaulted by plain clothes militia, special anti riot forces of the Revolutionary guards, soldiers and police. Approximately 1,000 women had gathered in Park Daneshjoo on the occasion of the International Women's Day to emphasize their stance in support of women's human rights and peace. The ceremony which started at 4:00 pm, and was scheduled to last one hour, was charged by security forces shortly after it began, who relentlessly beat the protesters, in an effort to disperse the group.

Godless in Society: How Can a Godless Person Make a Difference?

Being Godless in Society:
Godless people are atheists, skeptics, agnostics, freethinkers, and irreligious nonbelievers. In a society as soaked in religion and pop spirituality as America, godless people feel like outsiders in a variety of ways. They aren’t included in public calls to prayer and devotion, in the ever increasing presence of religion in the public square, or in the constant god-talk which believers may engage in. Is there anything the godless can do to demonstrate that they exist and matter?

Be Public about your Atheism:
Atheists will never make a difference in anything if people are unaware of anyone being an atheist. This seems obvious, but it has to be pointed out because so many are in the closet about being godless. There may be good reasons for this, but being open, public, and unapologetic about one’s godlessness is important because it helps one feel more comfortable with one’s self, and it enables people to see that godlessness doesn’t make one an immoral monster. Atheists must set a good example.

Don’t Let Prejudice and Discrimination Slide By:
Whether people are aware of your atheism or not, you may encounter expressions of prejudice against the godless. Sometimes this is deliberate; often it may simply be unthinking, unreflective, and habitual prejudice against those who are different. Such attitudes are no longer accepted when directed at minorities like Jews and blacks, so don’t let them continue to be socially acceptable against you. Being nasty won’t help, but be firm and direct about how you feel and how wrong such prejudice is.

Write Letters to the Editor:
One of the few remaining forums for public opinion, accessible to nearly anyone and read by so many, is the “letters to the editor” page in newspapers. Most papers have one and you should take advantage of them. Write short letters that make one or two points quickly and clearly. Don’t waste words, but make it clear that your perspective is godless and respectable. Write often; your name may be remembered and your letters may rise to the top when controversial issues are discussed.

Stay Informed:
Knowledge is invaluable. Do what you can to stay informed about recent news, philosophy, arguments, etc. Don’t just absorb facts and news, though — take some time to think about what it means, how it fits together, and what the implications down the road may be. The world isn’t simply a collection of unrelated events; understanding how events relate can be the key to understanding what’s wrong and what must be changed. Help others to stay informed too, when possible.

Become Politically Active in Local Groups:
Joining a freethought group establishes connections and support with other godless people, but it may not impact the rest of the community. For that, you must become active in other local groups which are designed for other purposes — political, social, environmental, charitable, etc. Don’t be pushy, but don’t hide the fact that you are godless. This establishes a godless perspective in these groups and helps religious believers get used to the fact that we exist and that we matter.

Consider More Extensive Writing:
Sometimes, the few chances of getting letters from yourself and friends printed in the newspaper isn’t enough to reach the audience you want, so you may need to consider a more ambitious task. Most newspapers accept guest columns, and if the people at your newspaper are familiar with you, then you may stand a chance of being published. You may even be able to write a regular column. Getting to this point will require patience, practice, lots of writing, and lots of reading.

Adopt Leadership Roles in Your Community:
Joining local organizations can help establish the existence of a valid godless perspective, but you may be able to make a greater impact by assuming leadership responsibilities within those organizations. Consider running for any position that becomes available, especially those where you will be able to help influence decision making and goal creation. The purpose is not to make the group promote atheism or freethought, but to ensure that it doesn’t become an extension of religion.

Be Patient, but Firm:
Change rarely comes quickly; when it does, it’s often in the wake of events we’d rather not happen and in directions that are for the worse. Genuine, positive, and fundamental changes take time because they occur from the bottom up: attitudes, assumptions, premises, and basic beliefs must shift before there can be significant alterations in behavior, policies, and laws. This is why so many changes are generational, with previous generations dying off before things are completely different.

You probably don’t have to wait quite that long to see some progress, but patience will be required nonetheless. It will take time for you to come out of the closet about being godless to all those you know. It will take time for the development of a local freethought group that is recognized and accepted in the community. It will take time for the letters of you and your godless friends to appear regularly in the newspapers. It will take even longer for you all to join, affect, and come to lead various local organizations.
It will take time, but it will be well worth the time and effort you invest. As you make progress, others will come to see that being godless doesn’t make one an immoral monster or an amoral sociopath. They will come to see that godlessness is a credible, reasonable, valid option and that being a religious believer isn’t the only path open to them. This, in turn, will at the very least increase the sympathy you experience and decrease the amount of prejudice and discrimination you must content with.
Over time, it may even increase the numbers of those who join you by sharing your godlessness — even if they don’t happen to share your political and social beliefs. Remember, godlessness isn’t a political program or a social philosophy. Even people who disagree with you about everything else may share your godlessness. Religious believers have turned their belief into a political football and litmus test — don’t make the same mistake with godlessness.

Last night I watched the movie Hostel. Disgusting movie, I did not like it. The story was poor. It is very interesting that in Salt Lake City, Larry H. Miller a good Mormon and owner of some theatre has decided to not show Brokeback Mountain, but his did allow to show hostel. Now I am confused about this, is he telling us killing people for fun is more harmless than 2 cowboys kissing each other? Of course our good Mormons will tell you well Hostel is rated R and if you choose to watch it that is your problem.

But how about Brokeback Mountain? Shouldn’t we be able to decide for our self?

I hate this double standard that some/all religious group have. Specially Mormons. You will see in the near future the church will allow its member to drink alcohol because they will be losing members. They already do. Just come to SLC and you will see how many Jack Mormons(Mormons that consider them self not active and act like humans) Mormons are around.

Iran struck back against Denmark this week with a low blow to that nation’s most sacred symbol, the pastry known around the world as “the Danish.” In retaliation for caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad in a Danish newspaper, the Iranian Confectioners’ Union has ordered that the popular pastries be renamed “roses of the Prophet Muhammad.”

As expected, the insult has incited chaos and instability across Denmark. Danes have taken to the streets in riotous fashion, burning Iranian flags and threatening to attack the Iranian Embassy. A group of Persian immigrants sustained minor injuries after walking into a popular bakery in Copenhagen and ordering three roses of Muhammad. The bakery’s employees reportedly pelted them with Danishes.

Danish Prime Minister Anders Rasmussen has expressed outrage at the insult to his country’s national pride, threatening consequences to all who disrespect the sanctity of Denmark’s blessed pastry. When asked if more cartoons would be published as a retaliatory act, he replied, “All options are on the table.”

Denmark’s supreme leader, Queen Margrethe II, angrily demanded a new name for Persian rugs as an initial counterstrike. After considering such names as “Nordic quilt” and “Viking mat,” the queen made a final decision. From now on, Danes will refer to the popular Oriental rug as the “sheath of Scandinavia.”

U.S. officials have thus far remained silent on the situation, possibly waiting to see if it escalates before issuing an official response. Despite hard questioning, White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan refused to discuss the issue at Thursday’s press conference.
In order to get the inside scoop, I caught up with McClellan that evening while he was dining at a Capitol Hill cafeteria. “The White House feels that renaming a country’s most famous food incites anger and resentment instead of fostering a dialogue based on tolerance and mutual respect,” he said before turning back to his plate of Freedom Fries.

1. Just because you haven’t seen God doesn’t mean He doesn’t exist. Atheism, therefore, is as much an act of faith as theism is.
Bertrand Russell demolished this fallacy nearly a century ago with his famous teapot argument. As his response appears to me to be perfect, I simply offer it here:

Many orthodox people speak as though it were the business of sceptics to disprove received dogmas rather than of dogmatists to prove them. This is, of course, a mistake. If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes.

But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion cannot be disproved, it is intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to doubt it, I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense. Why I Am Not a Christian by Richard Carrier

As a fellow freethinker, John Ransom engaged me to write a concise statement of why I am not a Christian. I should summarize my case, he said, simply and clearly so everyone could understand where I was coming from. John was especially frustrated that Christians routinely come up with implausible excuses to defend their faith that they don't really examine—as if defending the faith with any excuse mattered more than having a genuinely good reason to believe in the first place. Discussing our experiences, John and I realized we had both encountered many Christians like this, who color their entire perception of reality with the assumption that they have to be right, and therefore the evidence must somehow fit. So they could make anything up on the spur of the moment and be "sure" it was true.

This is the exact opposite of what we do, which is to start with the evidence and then figure out what the best explanation of all of it really is, regardless of where this quest for truth takes us.
John and I also observed that when their dogmatism meets our empiricism, slander is not far behind. I myself have increasingly encountered Christians who accuse me to my face of being a liar, of being wicked, of not wanting to talk to God, of willfully ignoring evidence—because that is the only way they can explain my existence.

I cannot be an honest, well-informed pursuer of the truth who came to a fair and reasonable decision after a thorough examination of the evidence, because no such person can exist in the Christian worldview, who does not come to Christ. Therefore, I must be a wicked liar, I must be so deluded by sin that I am all but clinically insane, an irrational madman suffering some evil psychosis.

There is nothing I can do for such people. Nothing I ever show or say to them will ever convince them otherwise—it can't, because they start with the assumption that their belief in Christ has to be true, therefore right from the start everything I say or do is always going to be a lie or the product of some delusion. They don't need any evidence of this, because to their thinking it must be true. Such people are trapped in their own hall of mirrors, and for them there is no escape. They will never know they are wrong even if they are. No evidence, no logic, no reason will ever get through to them. When we combine this troubling fact with the observation that their religion, like every other, appears tailor-made to justify their own culture-bound desires and personal vanities—as if every God is made in man's image, not the other way around—then we already have grounds for suspicion. The fact that even the Christian idea of God has constantly changed to suit our cultural and historical circumstances, and is often constructed to be impervious to logic or doubt, is reason enough to step back and ask ourselves whether we're on the wrong track with the Christian worldview.
This essay will never convince Christians who have locked themselves inside a box of blind faith. But if there are any other Christians out there who actually have an open mind, and since all seekers or questioners typically already do, a good summary of my reasons for rejecting Christianity will help show at least to them why I am not a deluded liar, but an honest and reasonable man coming to an honest and reasonable decision. What follows is not meant to be a thorough exploration of every nuance and problem, nor an exhaustive account of all the arguments and evidence, but a mere summary of the four most important reasons I am not a Christian. There are many atheist websites, blog and forum. But you don’t see any anti superman website, or none Batman believers. Why? Because we all agree that superman and batman don’t exist. So I of you are an atheist why do take the time to do such a things.For some is fear, mostly people that grownup in a religious home and after become atheist they have the fear of IF, if there is a God and am I going to hell. So it is very hard for this people to live this matter alone.

Utah Theater Cancels 'Brokeback Mountain

One of the best documentaries I have seen in a long time relating to the true nature of Christianity, and Jesus Christ. History has shown that it can be a very significant mistake to simply accept 'facts' which someone (or society) tells you to be truth, without an honest effort to determine whether or not it is based upon reality. The film explores the birth of Christianity, and OTHER possible HUMAN scenarios of how the current bible came to be--- instead of some supernatural series of events (which the majority of Christians unknowingly accept).No matter who you are, you should definitely check this movie out. Even if you are not a Christian, it shows how historical documents can easily be distorted into something they are not- and in this case, possibly form an entire religion around.Great Movie, I wish there were more like it !
